Anhinga Trail
Description
I am a sucker for anything where I can see wildlife. The Anhinga trail in Everglades National Park gave me my wildlife viewing fix.
The trail winds through a vertiable forest of lily pads. Keep an eye out for fish swimming amidst them. Most importantly to keep watch for are the alligators, they may be right next to the trail! We were able to see several up close and personal, what incredible creatures. The highlight was spotting baby alligators, which we have never seen before. We also saw turtles and many types of birds.
The Visitor Center had great information, in particular about alligators. Make sure to stop in. Once you leave, you absolutely must stop at Robert Is Here for a mango milkshake, fresh and unique produce, and see the small zoo.
