Silver Lake Nature Trail
Description
Brighton, Utah holds a special place in our hearts. In graduate school, I had the opportunity to live in the Salt Lake area. I hiked at Brighton and learned to snowboard there. As newlyweds, Seth and I relocated to the mountain west and continued our outdoor fun at Brighton. After our detour back to the Midwest, when we returned to live here again with our kids, the very first hike we took them on in Utah was at Brighton. If you don’t believe me yet that we love this spot, it should convince you when I say our daughter’s middle name is Brighton.
When we visit Salt Lake, we love the opportunity to get up into the mountains. We recently checked out Brighton’s lift summer/fall lift serve. Afterwards, we decided to complete the Silver Lake Nature Trail. It was decidedly a post-fracture friendly trail for me to get in some steps without fear of injury.
The sun was shining on the lake, the aspens were beginning to glow their bright fall yellow, and the mountains surrounded us. Being able to stroll around the lake in such a picture perfect setting was the perfect family day. There are plenty of spots to take photos, stop and look for fish, and be able to take in the views. This is a good trail for many ages and abilities.
